Your business deserves the same support it brings to your community.

Spruce Root’s Business and Client Services team supports Southeast Alaska entrepreneurs, small businesses, workers, and Native-led organizations through small business development, financial wellness programs, workforce development, and Resilience Circles.

As a Native-led CDFI, we provide free and affordable services that help people build skills, strengthen businesses, and grow community-centered economies.

Our work is rooted in long-term resilience, local leadership, and economic opportunity across the region.

Path to Prosperity

Path to Prosperity (P2P) supports Southeast Alaska entrepreneurs, small businesses, and communities through business support, workforce development, financial wellness programs, and access to resources rooted in local values and long-term resilience. In 2023, the P2P suite of services received the Gold Award for Excellence in Economic Development from the International Economic Development Council.

One-on-One Business Coaching

Our one-on-one business coaching provides individuals and businesses access to the tools, resources and skills they need to grow.

Business Competition

This annual business development competition builds positive impacts for Southeast Alaska. Entrants are judged based on feasibility and contributions to community development. Each year, two winning businesses receive $20,000 each.

Business Basics

These interactive workshops are for Southeast Alaskans looking to launch a business. Whether you have an idea or a side project, this workshop will give you the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to build that business for your community. Available in-person and online!

Master Class

This transformative workshop helps experienced entrepreneurs take their businesses to new heights. Participants develop a growth plan, explore and dispel internal limiting beliefs, become familiar with the latest research, learn tools for planning through a shifting economy, and more!

Financial Wellness

Our Financial Wellness workshops teach strategies for building a healthier mindset around finances. From mastering budgeting basics to creating clean financial goals and navigating the complexities of credit and debt, we welcome participants who are interested in improving their personal money management.

Workforce Development

Spruce Root provides executive-level coaching focused on project management, leadership development, and conflict resolution, supporting leaders and organizations in strengthening their teams and operations. We also offer soft skills and work readiness workshops, facilitate organizational work planning, and design customized workforce trainings tailored to the needs of businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations.

Resilience Circles

Resilience Circles is a trauma-informed, culturally responsive program to enhance the well-being and success of growing Native-led businesses. Our goal is to strengthen the capacities of Alaska Native enterprises for ecosystem guardianship, long-term economic resilience, comprehensive well-being and community mental health.
