Erin O’Farrell

Erin O’Farrell joins Spruce Root as the Strategic Communications Fellow through the Alaska Fellows Program. Erin was born and raised on Abenaki Lands in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, which instilled in them a strong sense of place that has shaped their values and work. They attended Bates College and graduated in 2020 with a BA in Environmental Studies. Following undergrad, Erin moved to Nashville and worked as a nanny, Americorps member, and communications manager at an environmental nonprofit before returning to school and receiving their MA in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah. Erin comes to Spruce Root with a passion for place-based storytelling and environmental justice work. A guest on Lingít Aaní, Erin is honored by the invitation to learn from this place’s peoples and Lands to support Spruce Root’s mission.
