Join us for Path to Prosperity Business Basics, a special in-person workshop for Tlingit & Haida Tribal citizens!
You will learn the essentials of starting a business, including writing a business plan, financial projections, and a break-even analysis.
Business Basics is an interactive workshop designed for Southeast Alaskans who are looking to launch a business. Whether you have an idea that you’re looking to turn into a business or a side project you are looking to expand, this workshop will give you the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to build a successful business that benefits the community, the environment, and the economy.
Entrepreneurs who complete Business Basics will gain a greater understanding of the fundamentals to start or grow an early-stage business and will be introduced to additional resources to continue growing their business.
The workshop will be May 16-17 at Generations Southeast Community Learning Center (formerly called the Vocational Center), 3239 Hospital Drive, Juneau.

Registration is open for the 8th Annual Native CDFI Capital Access Convening (CAC), taking place June 27-29, 2023, in Juneau, Alaska. This year’s theme — Turning the Tide — reflects this unique moment in time and the role Native CDFIs play in helping local economies recover and realize their self-determination.
Part of the agenda will include a mobile networking event that will take conference attendees around the city as well as a marketplace featuring local Native entrepreneurs. Click HERE for the full agenda.

Launch your business with customer-focused marketing

It’s also important to have strong customer-focused marketing strategies to reach your audience and turn them into loyal customers. In part one of this two-part Grow with Google Indigenous Community workshop, you will learn how to create a compelling brand, define the right audience for your business, and shape the customer journey from awareness to consideration.

About the coach: Jake Foreman is an Absentee Shawnee citizen and resides in Tiwa Territory in Albuquerque, NM. He is a Program Director at New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC) which provides culturally appropriate tools for success to emerging Indigenous-owned businesses, families and Tribal enterprises.

The Development Director will lead all fundraising, communications, project management, and committee engagement for the SSP’s annual budget and to realize the $100M fundraising goal for Seacoast Trust, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience raising funds for nonprofit or aligned work or have clear aptitude for building and maintaining relationships with potential and existing donors and for developing creative, collaborative and innovative strategies for growing the corpus of the Seacoast Trust and realizing SSP’s annual budget.
In conjunction with the Spruce Root, Inc. team, the Program Manager is responsible for the identification, development, and management of projects and initiatives that improve the economic condition of individuals in Southeast Alaska. This position will lead the development and deployment of the Financial Wellness course, and other work.

Resilience Circles Director will co-develop the pilot implementation plan and lead the program management team in Alaska. The ideal candidate is looking to dedicate 20+ hours a week to support the success of the Resilience Circles pilot program in Southeast Alaska, with an openness to the growth of this role.
The overall goal of the Rural Economic Development Catalyst is to catalyze and support economic development activities in rural, especially Tribal communities in southeast Alaska. You should expect these economic development activities to be guided by a blend of indigenous cultural values and a triple bottom-line framework that integrates economic, social and ecological sustainability principles into each economic development project and activity.
