Haley Goodman
Community Development Fellow
Haley (she/her) grew up in the Lower Hudson Valley region in New York and will be working with Spruce Root as the Community Development Fellow through the Alaska Fellows Program through May of next year. She attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where she earned a B.A. in environmental studies and geography. After graduation, Haley worked for a community solar developer in New York, focusing on expanding access to renewable energy for underserved communities throughout the U.S. In that role, Haley was lucky enough to partner with many community development nonprofits and CDFIs on the East Coast. Her admiration of these organizations and their impact drove her to seek a position with Spruce Root, along with her desire to explore a new place and be around more trees. She is excited to learn from and contribute to Spruce Root’s mission and hopes to center curiosity, care and connection during her time as a fellow.
Favorite thing about Southeast Alaska? The open and welcoming spirit of the community, along with the endless possibilities to explore land and ocean.
